Informational Meeting regarding Stormwater and Groundwater Protection Ordinances
STORMWATER AND GROUNDWATER PROTECTION ORDINANCES
MOULTONBOROUGH, NH

This March 9th voters in Moultonborough will have the opportunity to vote on two ordinances that address our town waters.  Both ordinances, Stormwater Management and Groundwater Protection, set standards to maintain clean water.  The Moultonborough Conservation Commission asks for your support in passing both these ordinances.

An informational meeting about the ordinances will be held:

Stormwater Management Ordinance

Who does this effect?
Anyone who disturbs 20,000 sq. feet or more in subdivisions platting new roads, in commercial and multifamily developments and redevelopments.

What do you do to meet the criteria of this ordinance?

Provide the town with a Stormwater Management Plan meeting required performance standards.
What is the focus of this ordinance?
No negative impact to water quality post development.



Groundwater Protection Ordinance

Who does this effect?
Those who live over designated wellheads, aquifer protection areas.   Does not apply to the storage and handling of products in quantities for normal household use.

What do you do to meet the criteria of this ordinance?
Take precautions to contain pollutants on site, manage risks of contamination to Town water resources through mitigation plans, restrict some high-risk uses such as junk yards and petroleum storage facilities and secure regulated substances on the premise.

What is the focus of this ordinance?
Protect our water resources from pollutants.
