We recently received the following request from the U.S. Census Bureau:
The U.S. Census Bureau is looking to local municipalities to help recruit people for temporary employment by placing this information on your website. Their information follows:
Greetings from the U.S. Census Bureau!
Census 2010 is fast approaching! A complete and accurate census count for your city and town is extremely important. Over $300 billion dollars in federal funding is allocated each year based on Census numbers. Our first major Census 2010 operation is Address Canvassing which begins in April.
This operation helps to confirm our Master Address File and make sure the 2010 Census Questionnaires are mailed to legitimate and existing addresses.
To complete this operation we need to hire thousands of new employees.
These hires will be stationed out of their homes and generally work in their community. I have attached a link that advertises these jobs and explains how to apply. We feel that this will not only help your residents by providing employment opportunities in these tough economic times, but it will benefit your community as a whole by helping to ensure a complete and accurate census count.
Sincerely,
Arthur Bakis
